NA Publishing
Brings Great Customer Service and Friendship
to the Tulsa City County Library System
Jan Coffman, Library Assistant at the Tulsa City County
Library System, works in a very detail -oriented environment.
And that's why she really appreciates the time and attention
she receives from her NA Publishing Customer Service
Representative, Colleen Beerens.
"We order a lot of microfilm through NA Publishing," says
Coffman. "They really know what they're doing. Their product
is wonderful and we've used it for years." But Coffman saves
her highest praise for her Customer Service Representative,
Colleen.
"Colleen is fantastic. She's very focused and makes sure
that everything is done right. She's always quick to respond.
In fact, she answers my questions in the same day, often
within just a few minutes of my call. I've NEVER had to follow
up with her on anything. She's the best."
The Tomato Queen
Coffman and Beerens have developed a good relationship and a
bit of a friendly rivalry as well! "Colleen has a great sense
of humor and always lifts my spirits. In fact, we discovered
that we both share an interest in growing tomatoes. So we've
developed a contest to see who can grow the best and most pear
tomatoes. Last year, Colleen won, and now I call her the
Tomato Queen. But I'm ready for her this year!"
Customer and Friend
NA Publishing's dedicated Customer Service staff has a
combined total of 100+ years providing top-quality service to
libraries all over the world. So it's no surprise that strong
relationships with customers like Tulsa City County Library
are the result. "It's this kind of special relationship that I
really value with NA Publishing and Colleen. I know she'll
always have time for me and help me with anything that I
need," Coffman explains. "I look forward to working with her
for a long time to come."

MicrofilmThe
Content You Want, The Budget You Need
You want to be sure that your institution has the important
research materials and information that researchers need. But
sometimes this means that you end up with a lot of materials
you don't need or want, but that you still have to pay for.
And that takes a large bite out of your budget.
Imagine being able to just pick and choose the individual
titles that you want for your library, a-la-carte, without
having to buy them as part of a larger collection. Microfilm
lets you do just that!
"eJournals are typically offered in 'big package' deals
which put tremendous pressure on library budgets, particularly
in today's challenging economic climate," says Jeff Moyer,
Executive Vice President, Publishing. "Microfilm offers a
cost-effective alternative by allowing libraries to select
individual titles from our catalog and tailor their selections
to their institution's specific needs."
Long-Term Access and Affordability
"We are also seeing libraries turn to microfilm for titles
that have lower demand from patrons but are still important
for the libraries' collection," says Moyer. "Microfilm offers
a ‘pay once' alternative to a longer-term subscription."
When your library purchases microfilm, you invest in
long-term collection development. Unlike electronic resources,
where titles appear and disappear monthly, microfilm becomes a
permanent part of your collection and your institution will
have ongoing access to these titles for many years to come.

MicrofilmSaving
Space, Saving Money
Space is an important commodity in every library. Large
volume books and periodical collections take up a lot of
precious shelving. And as budget dollars are getting smaller,
so is your library's storage space.
Microform provides the perfect solution by letting you
maintain content while taking up less space. "Our weekly
magazines that we retain on fiche get heavy research
usageNewsweek, Time, US News and World Report, and Sports
Illustrated," says Dianne Ford, Serials and Documents
Librarian, Belk Library, Elon University, Elon, NC. "I love
showing students that we have fiche for Newsweek from 1980
forward all in one drawerand it's not full yet! They're
amazed; though they often resist using fiche because they
‘don't know how.' Once I show them, the response is usually,
‘how neat'!"
Microform is a tried and true research tool that requires
only a fraction of the storage space needed for hard copies.
You'll go from needing yards of shelf space to merely inches.
Your account representative will work with you to maintain the
titles your institution wants and needs.
"The space savings is pretty obvious. You only have to look
at a foot tall stack of magazines next to a box of film to see
the difference," says Jennifer Combs, Periodicals, Collection
Management Services, Kansas City Public Library. "And, we have
some titles covering 50 years or more in a microfilm drawer
that would probably only hold a few years of that title in
magazine form."
So don't downsize your library's collection to fit a few
large journals. Take advantage of microfilm and build your
library's resources while saving precious shelf space.
